I came across these really colourful and cheerful flowers during our short vist to the Ooty Botanical Gardens….don’t remember the names of these flowers, so have uniquely christened them as blue flowers (duh!)

I read a recent article on tips for night photography and on how to get a nice shot. So I thought I will put to use what I learnt.

So here the idea was to capture the true colours of the dusk (not overexpose) and also to get the city lights clearly (need to expose enough!). Most of all it was important not to shake the photo

I used an exposure of about 1″ (second) and an aperture of 2.5 mm (the maximum); letting in the maximum amount of light. The camera was placed on a ledge. The result was very pleasing. Photography lessons put to good use

What's worrying her?

Its a completely spontaneous photo…that’s what I love about it. I really think it is tough to get shots like this of another person, without them knowing and still managing to get that perfect shot. e.g., had the eyes been visible in the photo, it would not have looked so great. The fact that the eyes and face are hidden, with just that much visible, lends mystery to the image . . .

City Life . . .

Taken a little late in the evening, I wanted to capture the city lights against the setting sun; the light orange hues against the florescent lamps…

Well a little creativity (or should I say mess up), and an amazing photos is created ….. it looks as if the city streaks past by you . . .

Another one of my favorite photography subjects – the sun and its crimson colors.  This one’s been taken at Baga beach in Goa. Captured at dusk, this time I really wanted to bring out the setting sun’s crimson glow which encompasses everything around. I captured lot of the shades, but I liked this one the best…

At its fiery best

Its those last moments when the sun appears at its fiery best, just before going down out cold:)

This was one of my first photos which came out extremely well; it continues to remain my favorite! It was taken in Stanely Park, Canada.

I must have taken at least 10 shots before I got the one with the perfect hues of the sunset, just a little of the ship, bird in that perfect position and the orange sun in the far distance.

Any day that I look at this photo, it just takes me back to silence of that moment, the gentle lapping of the waters, the evening chill . . .

This shot was taken in Munnar. We had gone visiting some park called the Hydel Park there and I chanced upon this opportunity.

In my opinion this shot has come out very well; the fluttering of the bees on the flower captured to perfection.

Taken with a Canon S1 IS Powershot, the colors too are very radiant in this shot. Infact the camera has never failed me on that account!
