Given that these airports are pretty much monopolies in the cities / geographies they operate, consumers or travellers really dont have a chance, do they? I am not saying that we should not bear some costs for the international class services we seek(there is no free lunch, eh?), however I am challenging the base argument for this hike, and that this will be a never ending path……hikes like these are bound to hit travel / tourism (domestic or international) and then it starts falling into the domain of the government…that’s why some amount of government involvement is needed as this is a PPP in the first place ….also it clearly exposes the follies in the projections made when these projects were being conceived and the end user is being made to pay for these ….

You know where our tax money goes … it goes towards furnishing the chief minister’s house with crores.

on the other hand its ok to make these airports as independent operating entities generating their own money. In which case govt shouldnt poke their nose into their affairs.

Running has not been that regular….but that isnt stopping me from taking part in events. Next in line is the half-marathon (21kms) on 13th september. Its part of an event called the Kaveri Trail Marathon…the run is along the banks of Cauvery!
